Let's Get Started!

Thank you to everyone who is prepared to jump straight in and have a go at blogging! Sorry I have held things up, by taking the longest time to accept Allan's invitation and start the whole thing going - blame it on technology!

To set the record straight the invitation to blog is an experiment to offer an informal forum for students and tutors /staff at the Art School to exchange news and views. It is not linked to Wandsworth Council or to the School management and it has been initiated to coincide with Adult Learners Week (May 17th -23rd). The hope is that there will be an informal exchange between the 10 people who signed up for it and if everyone feels it is enjoyable then we can invite others to join.

Although there are no rules it is worth remembering that it is not intended as an opportunity to sling mud or criticise - you can still speak to Charlie and Julia if you want to let us know about any concerns - but to share your expereinces as they happen and hopefully to show some images too of any work you are involved with.

As a student myself of Digital Photography and Life Drawing and Painting I will be contributing too. So now that the introductions are over it is now over to you . . . . . . .

Looking forward to your responses

I have been avoiding Julia in the corridors. Why? Well, I have been somewhat tardy in jumping into blog space (I am not alone in that!). But better late than never.
Those of you interested in Modern British artists there is an exhibition in the Foss Fine Art gallery (113b Northcote Road), with works from Sir Peter Blake, Sandra Blow, Terry Frost and Bruce McLean. For those unfamiliar with Blake he was responsible for the album cover of Sergeant Pepper. The exhibition has some interesting pieces, and it is always good to support local galleries. If you do pop in ask for a look at the map clothing from Elisabeth Lecort, which are great.
